The following are the highlights of the three hour Saturday birdwalk at
Charleston County's Caw Caw Park in Ravenel, SC led by Perry Nugent at 8:30

70 species were seen and/or heard. The most interesting were; 400
Green-winged Teal, 10 Hooded Mergansers, 2 adult and 3 young Bald Eagles, 1
Northern Harrier, 2 Sharp-shinned Hawks, 8 Red-shouldered Hawks, 3
Red-tailed Hawks, 6 Wild Turkeys, 50 Greater Yellowlegs, 12 Lesser
Yellowlegs, 1 Dunlin, 2 Common Snipe, 1 Hairy Woodpecker, 3 Pileated
Woodpeckers, 1 Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, 1 House Wren, 1 Sedge Wren, 30
Ruby-crowned Kinglets, 10 Golden-crowned Kinglets, 1 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher,
3 Hermit Thrushes, 100+ American Pipits, 1 Loggerhead Shrike, 6 Blue-headed
Vireos, 1 Orange-crowned Warbler, 2 Pine Warblers, 5 Palm Warblers, 1 Common
Yellowthroat, 1 Dark-eyed Junco, 10 Chipping Sparrows, 10 Savannah Sparrows,
and 8 Rusty Blackbirds.
