Yesterday I saw a non-adult Bald Eagle soaring over the intersection of
I-40 and 15-501!!
There was a Turkey Vulture nearby and the difference in size and the
angle of the wings while soaring was just like the pictures in the
books. This area is about 3 miles (as the crow flies) from the beaver
pond on Old Erwin road where an eagle was spotted a few weeks ago.
But the intersection of I-40 and 15-501 with a half dozen stop lights
and hundreds of cars was not a place I expected to see my first eagle of
the year.
