Hilton Pond 03/01/03 (Grass Carp)

On 7 March the Environmental Education Association of South Carolina visited Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont Natural History and helped discover some interesting new information about a school of giant fish that have been living in the pond for the past decade of so.

For a photo essay about Grass Carp--and the ecological pros and cons of introducing them into Piedmont ponds--please visit "This Week at Hilton Pond" for the week of 1-7 March 2003 at http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek030301.html .

As always, there's a tally of birds banded during the period, as well as a list of recaptures from previous years.

Happy Nature Watching,
