Dear Birders,
I was just treated to a magnificent sight. I was looking out at the snow
falling over my marsh (Greenview Pond) and noticed that the fifty or so
green winged teal that had been feeding on the beaver pond had taken to
flight. Then I saw why - a bald eagle was cruising over the marsh.
I can hardly express the feeling I had as I watched that eagle flying
through the falling snow.
It was a magical. I wish you could have been there to see it...

Greenview Pond
Raleigh, North Carolina
Greenview Pond is located on Blaney Franks Road, just west of Lake Wheeler,
in Raleigh, North Carolina. In spite of the fact that it's just a small
farm pond and marsh, the Wake County Audubon Society has observed over 200
species of birds there over the years.
