New Hope Audubon is having a field trip to the Raleigh "duck" lakes
tomorrow. All are welcome to attend.
Saturday, January 6, 10:00 a.m. Join New Hope Audubon Society members
for a tour of waterfowl hotspots in the Raleigh area. Rendezvous at
the Glenn Lennox Shopping Center (on highway 54 just east of the
15-501 bypass in Chapel Hill) at 10:00 a.m. and we will carpool to
the sites. Highlights of this trip will include wintering waterfowl
such as Scaup and Canvasbacks. Bring binoculars, field guides,
spotting scopes, a snack if desired, and warm clothes. We will be
done around 3:00 p.m. Leader: Patrick Coin Contact Patrick Coin
(patrick@coinconsult.net) if you need any more information, but no
reservations are required.
I'd particularly enjoy having some of the experienced Raleigh birders
along--I don't get over there very often. (I am relying on the
Birdwatcher's Guide to the Triangle.) Perhaps we can meet up at one
of the sites at 10:45 or so. If you are interested drop me an e-mail
(patrick@coinconsult.net) or call me this evening (919-544-3239) and
we can arrange it.
Many thanks,
