I also found some of those neat waterfowl at Jordan today (Sun). The numbers
have increased. I found 22 Goldeneyes and 4 Long-tailed Ducks. Also had one
Common Merganser, 12 Red-breasted Mergansers, and just about the most (lost
count - many hundreds) Hooded Mergansers I've ever seen on one lake! Also had
nine Common Loons and 80 Horned Grebes. Ring-billed Gulls were too numerous
to mess with. Also there are more D.-cr. Cormorants wintering on the lake
this winter than I can remember. It really is a neat birding experience at
Jordan right now with all the waterbirds and the ice.
