Mr. Pasquarella,
You might consider that your post was very biased and based on your
ignorance of many things. For one, FALCONERS have saved many wild
populations of raptors for extremists like yourself to enjoy. Classic
example = peregrine falcon, READ UP ON IT, ITS A GREAT STORY!!!If you have
an ethical delimma with falconry, that is fine as this is your right, but
neither you or the government should inflict the personal ethics on the rest
of us. Thankfully, falconry regulations are based on biological data, a
term that probably doesn't mean much to you. If you or others on
Carolinabirds are not interested, I've got a simple piece of advice for
you........GO ON TO THE NEXT POST AND FORGET ABOUT IT!!!!! Better yet for
you personally, go to a liberal animal rights organization meeting and
perhaps someone there will understand you!!

<<You will see goshawks,Cooper's Harris and

Oh...REALLY!?
Funny, I never knew they did their "thing" this way. I once saw a No.
Goshawk do its' "thing" in the Chiricahuas in Arizona. And the "thing"
of
it was---it didn't need <<a beagle to help serve up
> game for the bird->>IT WAS FINE ALL BY ITSELF!!! And isn't that truly
where all Birds of Prey belong.....Doing their "thing" the way nature
intended it!
And seeing a pair of Red-tails performing their courtship behavior today
is
what I consider the way they "do their thing"....
How on Earth can any birder worth his/her salt tolerate seeing birds in
this "fashion". That's not birding...that's like going to a zoo!! I
find
it reprehensible --and the fact that Carolina Birds actually seems to
"promote" it with this post has me seriously wondering right now!
And the irony.......I had just finished reading Donna Bailey's wonderful
description of the Prairie Falcon...closing with:
(<<The Prairie Falcon was flying directly southwest, so was headed
towards
Bear
>Island. I hope that others are able to observe this exciting bird. It
was
>something to see! >>))
I am sure it was.. THAT is a bird and THAT is birding (to me)
<<hopefully we will see you
> there>>
Not in your dreams....unless you plan to release all of those beautiful
captive birds back where they belong--
I am stunned! I have NEVER been associated with a bird club or any
birders
before who tolerated the "hobby" of playing with Birds of Prey.
Please say this post was a mistake and someone infiltrated the
system..Please!
