Special treat!

Howdy,

Finally, the Baltimore Oriole that has been coming to my next door neighbor's feeder came to mine today!!After looking in the two latest bird books, the oriole looks like an adult female in Kaufman's book and a first fall male in Sibley's. There was more orange on the breast and undertail coverts, with yellow on the belly. She or he ate from the suet cage for 3-4 minutes. Three Yellow-rumps and one Pine Warbler were waiting impatiently for their turn. The oriole has been around since the week before Christmas, so almost a month now.

Beautiful color to see in a mostly brown, winter yard!

See ya at the Chapel Hill Bird Club meeting Monday night. (One more plug!) Happy birding!
