Carolina Birders --
Greetings. I joined this list about a month ago in preparation of a
trip to South Carolina (Charleston) in March or April. I plan to spend
a few days birding, and have gotten numerous pointers based on the
reporting here.
But having studied the coastal maps, I had expected to hear a lot about
birding in the coastal area south of Charleston, down to the Georgia
border, particularly ACE Basin. Almost all the of the reporting
concentrates on the coastal area north of Charleston -- Bulls Island,
Santee, Huntington Beach. While I look forward to those spots, I'm
wondering if the southeast corner of South Carolina is a good birding
spot as well. Or does it require a canoe or boat to actually get to
the "good spots"?
Any suggestions and comments will be welcome, and thank you for allowing
me to share in the information you're providing through the list.
