Do you know Shriman NArayana, Himself
helped to build one Divyadesam? Yes, it is Semponsai Kovil of Thirunangur.
    How?

After His fight with Ravana, Shri Rama
was returning to Ayodhya. Enroute, He stayed in the Ashram of Druda
Nethra Munivar. The Munivar suggested Shri Rama, to donate a golden cow to a
    poor brahmin, so that
    the brummahasthi dosham surrounded by
Him on account of killing Ravana would be warded off. Shri Rama, accordingly
made a big golden cow and did tapasya for four days sitting inside the cow.
On the fifth day He donated the cow to a poor brahmin. Thus he got himself
relieved off the brummahasthi Dosham. The poor brahmin sold the golden cow
and used the sale proceeds to build a temple , which is none other
than Semponsai Kovil Divyadesam named aptly.  Of the 108 Divyadesams,
it is the only Divyadesam, Shriman Narayana Himself helped to build. Here
Shriman Narayana is called as Sempon Arangar, Perarulalan and Herambar. In
Paramapadam, Shriman Narayana is called Arulalan. Here since he is admist of
us, he is aptly called Perarulalan. Here he is with Bhoomadevi and
    Allimamalar Nachiyar.

Once there lived a rich brahmin by name
Kashyapan in Kancheepuram. He became poor after loosing his wealth. He came
to Thirunangur and worshipped Perarulalan. He with devotion chanted the
divine manthram "OHM NAMO NARAYANANAYA"  32000 times in three days.
Perumal felt happy and granted him boons and thus Kashyapan became rich again. Hence,
there is a belief, that poor people by worshipping Perarulalan can overcome
their difficulties and get good profession and thereby enough
    wealth.

    Here, Brammothsavam is celebrated on
Ipasi Swathi Nakshathram day, which happens to be Perumals Thiru
Nakshathram. Perumal also participates in the 11 garudaseva, conducted in
Thirunangur, on the day following Thai Amavasya
    day.

    Semponsai Kovil Divyadesam is situated
in Thirunangur, which is about 8 Kilometers from Seerkazi of Nagapattinam of
    TamilNadu.
