Ronald Reagan's family lived at 816 South Hennepin Avenue in Dixon, Ill., when they arrived in town in 1920. Hennepin Avenue was a middle-class neighborhood; the street was lined with trees and the homes were close together and close to the street. Jack Reagan, Ronald's father, paid twenty-three dollars a month rent for the house, which was owned by Teresa and John Donovan.
