God Hid His Face
Selected Poems of RAJZEL ZYCHLINSKY

The Rain and the Apple Tree

The rain carries on a conversation
with the apple tree
about me.
The rain is angry,
the leaves insist:
No and no!
The cabbage also listens in,
and I?
I look through all the green windows,
trembling, into your eyes -
and weep, naked, before the apple tree.
