History of Archives

Elena: I assume you are looking for secondary sources. With that in mind,
I have cut and pasted three sections of my working bibliography on
archival history. The "GENERAL" section provides a variety of articles on
archival history broadly conceived. The second section relates to
medieval Europe and the third to early modern/modern Europe. These
citations should give you a start; I'm sure others will be offering
sources I have missed. (My apologies for duplications--I subscribe to the
digest, so I don't know what others have posted so far today.)
