Vacancy at the IMF



        INTERNATIONAL MONETARY FUND


For its headquarters in Washington, DC (USA), the International Monetary
Fund is seeking a Records Management Officer. The incumbent will be part of
a team of records managers, archivists, and information technology staff
involved with establishing an electronic institutional repository of IMF
documents and records. He/she will participate in restructuring the records
management program to enable effective management of the IMF records through
their life-cycle and regardless of their current media or location. The
incumbent will analyze existing records policies, update them and/or compile
new records policies. In particular, he/she will focus on issues from the
perspective of electronic record keeping; these issues include: metadata,
security, recordness and the like. Finally, the incumbent will be actively
involved with development of file plans and retention schedules for records
throughout the organization and their further implementation within the
framework of an electronic records management system.

Requirements:

The successful candidate needs to have a Master's degree with concentration
in electronic records management and archives, and at least 3 years of
experience within a records management operation or in an archival setting.
A basic knowledge of computing systems and an understanding of the
principles of database operations and design are required. "Hands-on"
familiarity with electronic document and records management systems is
highly desirable. In addition, the candidate should also have understanding
of a "post-custodial" archives and be knowledgeable about the latest trends
in the archival and records management fields.

This appointment is for 12 months.
