Re: Preservation photocopier

Glenda,
FYI, we have a four year old Xerox BK35 which has a book cradle to limit
wear and tear on spines. The design is good and does afford support for old
books, but I feel that we experience more breakdown problems than we should
(we make only about 10-15,000 copies p/yr). I have found that Xerox is good
at sales but poor at customer service (Whenever they call me -- monthly for
a meter reading -- they know who I am and have my file on hand, however, if
I call them, they cannot find my file no matter how many customer numbers I
provide! I dedicated one morning to work out this problem. I was transfered
NINE TIMES among several states and finally was told that my institution is
not in their computer). Perhaps others have had the opposite experience
with this fine, American corporation (INSERT LEGAL DISCLAIMER HERE)!
Anyway, I am in the market for a new NON-XEROX machine myself. Good luck.

Subject: Preservation photocopier

I was sure this topic had been discussed before, but a search of the list
serv archives did not yield the information I was looking for. Can anyone
give me the name? model? serial number? cost? of a photocopier that
qualifies as doing preservation quality photocopying? Thanks.
