Summary: Retention Schedules

Thanks to all who responded to my request for
information on developing retention schedules for
nonprofit institutions. For others in the same boat, I
am passing on the advice to contact your state
archives and records adminstration for their
schedules. These are mostly for government agencies
but should generally apply to nonprofits. I also
received a book of schedules from one organization
that is proving very useful. I plan to develop
schedules based on these various sources and have them
reviewed by our accountants, Director, Treasurer and
legal advisors. I will gladly pass along rough drafts
of our schedules to those interested, although it may
take a little time before they are fully completed.

Sincerely,
