Re: staples, paperclips and stamps



Well, first the idea of using a stamp and having folders ahead
of the process is a good one.  It has worked quite well here for
large collections.   Don't "prefold" the folders though.

The idea of removing the paperclips, etc. is okay, but since you
make some decisions about what to retain as you work through
them, it can be a wasted exercise.   Why not do this as the end
project instead?   I worked on a vast collection and at the front
end, I made retention decisions, folder labelling, etc. and passed
them along to clerical staff who made new folders, did the label-
ling, removed the clips, boxed and created the inventory....
