Records Management Training Opportunities available in Syracuse, New York
The National Archives and Records Administration--Northeast Region has two courses coming up next week in Syracuse, New York.
Tuesday March 14
Basic Records Operations
This one day workshop is designed to introduce employees concerned with files maintenance to the principles of designing, establishing, and maintaining file systems.
All aspects of a records disposition program will be addressed, including the definition of a record, conducting a files inventory, files arrangement schemes, creating a file plan, using a records control schedule, and how to transfer records to a records center.
Wednesday March 15
Information Technology Management
This workshop is designed to inform IT professionals and records managers on the management and maintenance of electronic records and operating systems. The issues discussed are basic to IT systems maintained throughout the Federal government.
Both courses will be held in the U.S. District Court Annex at the Hanley Federal Building, 100 South Clinton Ave., Syracuse, New York. The course are from 9:00 to 4:00 each day.
The courses are offered primarily for Federal employees but are also open to Federal contractors and employees of State and local governments, as well as academic and international organizations.
SUGGESTED ATTENDEES: Supervisors and staff with responsibilities for files management, records officers, and information technology staff
