RAIN 3/14/00 Part 2: Records destruction and identity theft

We all know that dumpster diving is allowed by the law. But we still have a
hard time convincing people that destroying confidential information is very

Minnesota (or was it Wisconsin) just had a new law go into effect that

contain personal information OR suffer legal and financial penalties. Well
California (which criminalized identity theft two years ago) is looking at
more legislation. The story carries a short synopsis on each bill at the end
of it.
