RAIN 3/14/00 Part 3: Blubber-stained, Type 300 and the head-bange r

I truly love reading the English papers. The headlines, the writing and the
stories are all a joy to read. And truly, more strange records keep bubbling
up from every corner of that sceptred isle.

The following stories cover newly discovered records of events and people
that were significant.

REDISCOVERED AND ARCHIVAL
Most of us are familiar with the great tragic race between Scott and
Amundsen to be the first to reach the South Pole, but did you know that
there another part to Scott's party? If not try this url

I don't know about you,but flying has always fascinated me, especially the
planes of World War II. One of the most beautiful and successful aircraft
was the Supermarine Spitfire. Apparently there has always been a mystery
about its first flight. Discover when it occurred and what happened in this
interesting records rescue tale. (Times of London requires that you be
registered to access their stories, but it is free)
