Re: Spam Reply Reminder

Given today's [I hope mistaken] posting to the
list from my institution, I thought it would be a
good time to repost the Spam reply reminder. It's
mainly meant for new members and can be safely
deleted if you've read it before.

Thanks,

Despite all of our efforts, some spammers will
inevitably post their
advertisements to our Listserve. It is one of the
prices of an open forum.
When dealing with spams (mass mailings by
advertisers/junk mail), subscribers are reminded
simply to delete the spam message and NOT to
follow any directions it might give for securing
removal from a mailing list. Attempts to reply to
spams can result in the List being filled with
numerous messages replicating the original
advertisement, causing great inconvenience to
other List members. I also wish to add that, from
this date forth, subscribers who clog up the List
attempting to reply directly to spammers risk
removal from the List at my discretion. Thanks to
everyone for their patience.
