Re: 1893 Columbian Expo records?

The official photographer of the Columbian Exposition was C.D. Arnold.
He and Harlow Davidson Higinbotham produced the OFFICIAL VIEWS OF THE
WORLD'S COLUMBIAN EXPOSITION. I think most of the photos went to the
Chicago Art Institute, but also check with the Library of Congress.

The official guidebook, OFFICIAL DIRECTORY OF THE WORLD COLUMBIAN
EXPOSITION was by Moses P. Handy and published by W.B. Conkey and the
     Columbian Guide Co.

I've got a patron looking for archival records documenting the 1893 World's
Columbian Exposition in Chicago. He's on the track of several published
histories and websites, but wondered which repositories hold the larger
collections of material. I see in my old NHPRC Directory of Archival
Repositories that both the Art Institute of Chicago and the Chicago Public
Library have related holdings, but perhaps some list members might have
some insider info.

The patron is specifically seeking information on the Michigan exhibit in
the Mines and Minerals Building -- photographs, descriptions, individuals
and companies involved, etc.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
