Montgomery County Archives Web site

Apologies for cross-postings.

The Web site of the Montgomery County, Maryland, Archives has a new look
and a new address, featuring expanded information about the Archives'
holdings and links to nearly all of its finding aids.

Go to http://www.montgomeryarchives.org to learn more about the
collections at the repository of official records for Montgomery County
government. With a population approaching one million, Montgomery County
is Maryland's largest political entity, located near Washington, D.C. Its
communities include Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Silver Spring and Wheaton.

Housed in the historic Red Brick Courthouse in downtown Rockville, the
Archives was established in 1985 and has about 2,000 cubic feet of
records, spanning mostly from 1935 to the present. The Archives is part of
the Montgomery County Department of Public Libraries, and is open for
reference service Monday-Friday, 8:30-4:30 ET (appointment recommended).
