Looking for Bialystock photo
Dear List members,
A patron is looking for photographs related to the bialy,
a small round roll with an indented well in the middle,
also called the Bialystoker Kuchen.
It was made in the city/province of Bialystok, Poland.
She is looking for photos of the bakers or bakery shops
in pre-war Bialystok (any time from the late 19th century
to the late 1930s), for a book to be published very shortly.
She has already conducted a very thorough search of the obvious
places: published books, YIVO's archives, NYU, Jewish Theological
Seminary, many Holocaust museums, and some individual photographers.
Are there any additional sources that she could check?
Thanks in advance,
Joy Kingsolver
