Upstate New York Archives Conference



UPSTATE NEW YORK ARCHIVES CONFERENCE

The Lake Ontario Archives Conference (LOAC) is hosting the UPSTATE NEW YORK
ARCHIVES CONFERENCE at the University at Albany, SUNY (Albany, NY) on June
16-17, 2000.  The conference theme is From the 17th Century through the
20th Century: Archives Have it All and is open to archivists, librarian,
historians and any others interested in preserving our documentary
heritage.  Program sessions include: "The New York State Documentation
Project: Mental Health, the Environment, and Latino Populations," "Historic
Structures, Objects and Archives," "Documenting Labor: the Capital District
Example," "Non-Traditional Uses of Religious Archives," "Preserving and
Providing Access to Electronic Records," "Saving Albany's Past While
Building the Future," "Putting the Heritage Back in Heritage Tourism," "New
York State Archives Needs Assessment Project," "Cooperative Efforts to Save
Historical Records," and the "Impact of New Technology on Fee
Structures."  On June 15, there will be two half day pre-conference
workshops on Web page design and Web page improvement.  The full conference
