Re: archival experiences

Title: RE: archival experiences

I got a call from the Dean's secretary one day who was very evasive about what she needed cataloged and removed. I asked her how we could help and she explained that we were to remove some personal effects from an apartment.

We went over with our van to a campus apartment on a hot humid day with the dean and his secretary to the site of a double ax murder. We figured that was what we were called to do since the publicity had been extreme and we were trying to keep a very low profile. After the police had finished we cataloged everything, cleaned as best we could and wrapped up the mess in garbage bags. We had to dispose of so many items that we went from dumpster to dumpster on campus to bury the bedding and those items unrecoverable. We shiped the personal effects of the two victims.

That scene was the worst place I had ever picked up records or items from.
