Re: fixed archival responsibility?

actually I have some other questions related to this.
1. Is the subscription price charged by the vendor sufficient to allow them
to maintain back issues.
2. I would imagine that the publisher would charge non-subscribers for
access to the back issues.
3. (here is the heretical question) Why should the publisher be the one
responsible for maintaining the old journal issues online? Does a
traditional magazine publisher maintain back issues for libraries and
archives to access on a regular basis? Hardware, software, migration all
cost money.
4. If the ezine is purchased by another publisher would that publisher be
required to maintain the back issues?

just some questions for a topic that I was not aware of.
