Re: Alm's House?
The Philadelphia Almshouse, also known as the Blockley Almshouse, was in
existence as an almshouse or poor house well into the late 19th Century.
The hospital associated with the Almshouse eventually became Philadelphia
General Hospital which was closed in 1977. For more information about the
records of the Guardians of the Poor and the Almshouse see

Subject: Alm's House?
Can anyone tell me what "Alm's House" c. 1859, in Philadelphia was?
Does it still exist?
Thank you,
