Re: Movie Madness

Title: RE: Movie Madness

Yes, ZULU was pretty interesting, I also enjoyed it.

One of the funny things about filming the movie was that the film Director, Stanley Baker [who also played opposite Michael Caine] had a very difficult time completing the actual battle scenes, as the tribesman had a difficult time understanding Baker and how he wanted the scenes to be choreographed and staged.  Most of the tribesman had never seen a movie let alone been apart of a motion picture.

So, in order to try to get them to understand what he wanted, he showed them an 1930's U.S. Cowboy Western. Baker himself was not sure if his idea would work, as he did not want to insult the intelligence of the tribesman, nor did he want to upset them.

However, his idea worked as the laughter of the tribesman echoed throughout the camp.  I am not sure if they laughed because of the quality of the film or the acting, but it seemed to work, because during the next day of filming, everything went on without any problems.

ROTFL ROTFL ROTFL ROTFL gasp gasp gasp

finally caught my breath. whoooooo hooooo! That sounds like a movie line for
sure.

And don't forget that in Westerns the six-shooters never ran out of bullets!

IMHO my favorite 'historical' movie is Zulu with Michael Caine
