print blocks

We have a bunch of these, from various sources; a church that
used them in their programs, an early river runner who used them
for advertising, and so on. My former boss told me to toss them,
which I didn't do; and then it turns out they can be used in our hand
press, the Red Butte Press, which uses an old Columbia hand
press to produce fine printing, and so on. It's a part of the Book
Arts program here in Special Collections, they use the old presses
to produce handbills, keepsakes for the Friends of the Library, and
so on. So if your library happens to have a hand press program (I
know, fat chance!), tell them about any wooden print blocks you
might have. You'll be glad you did!
