Transporting a Wax Seal
List Members:
A colleague in our History Dept asked me to post this question. Please
reply Directly to him, off-list. Thank you.
----------
"I have to transport a 1793 document with a wax seal and I am looking
for
suggestions as to how best to protect the seal. It is cracked somewhat,
but
otherwise in pretty good condition. Presently it is protected by a
small
piece of cotton within at plastic bag which is placed over the seal.
The
document is then placed in a folder."
