that troublesome pink dress

This is sort of like the national enquirer, nobody admits to reading it but everyone seems to know what it says. If there wasnt a morbid curiosity for this stuff people wouldnt be out there collecting it. Especially in this day and age (thanks to Ebay and the Antiques Roadshow) when everyone thinks everything is worth a dime.

For some strange reason we all seem to have this hang up about death and all. But for some reason its that very topic that seems to get the most play time.

When i worked at another repository that included historic crime scene photos they were the hit of the archives. Every new staff member had to see them. Dont ask me why, I am sure more than one walked away shaking their heads as to what made them look but just about everybody was curious.

I personally dont know how i would feel to find photos of one of my relatives in such a situation (just for the record there are such photos of one of my relatives who met an untimely death somewhere in a police file). But we arent really talking about the actual images but things assoicated with it. Perhaps the dress shouldnt be exhibited but could be viewed upon request, from a distance of course otherwise little pieces and parts would be showing up everywhere...Perhaps this is all a throw back the the idea of religious relics....i havent heard any complaints lately about digging up old saints and distributing them across the face of the earth. Just some thoughts on it all.
