Project Cataloger,  (NEH Project- time limited two years)
Assistant University Librarian

Under the supervision of a director of a grant project funded by NEH, the
Project Cataloger is a time-limited position (2000-2002) and is primarily
responsible for original cataloging of titles in the area of American and
British children's literature (in English) for the period 1850-1869 for the
Baldwin Library of Historical Children's Literature.  The Project Cataloger
will review the enhanced copy of the project's paraprofessional staff and be
responsible for the final quality of all bibliographic and authority records
created for this project. Qualifications required :  A MLS or MLIS from an
ALA-credited library school. Ability to communicate effectively orally and
in writing. Demonstrated capacity to work effectively and productively in a
team environment. Demonstrated success in working within a project schedule.
Prefer: Two years of experience cataloging materials in special collections.
Two years of original cataloging experience in an academic or research
library. Demonstrated experience in working with OCLC or RLIN databases,
including MARC book formats.   The University of Florida is the state's
