Re: Oral Histories--Lack of Releases

Dean--

When I was a freshman at Williams College, I took an Oral History Winter
Study course and interviewed several people. No releases.

Fifteen years after I graduated, I received a letter from the college,
saying that they had realized that there were no releases, and asked me to
sign one. Obviously, most of the interviewers would have still been alive,
but I don't know how the college fared in getting releases from those
interviewed, or how it dealt with tapes for which they still had no
releases.

Let me know if you'd like me to send a copy of what Williams sent me for the
retroactive release.
