Swarthmore College, a small, highly selective liberal arts college, seeks an experienced professional for the position of Curator of the Friends Historical Library.

Reporting to the Director, administers an internationally known, research archives and special collections library in the field of Quaker history. Responsibilities include the development and management of book & manuscript collection resources; supervision of professional and nonprofessional staff members; financial administration; library and archival administration; and providing reference service to patrons of the College community and to visiting scholars.

Requires MLS with academic background in history, MA in U.S. History with certification, or significant supervisory experience in archives/special collection library setting. Ability to work with Quaker organizations essential. Must have technical facility in all aspects of special collections management, strong interpersonal and communications skills and a proven track record in library and/or archival management.
