The SAA Business Section announces two events of particular interest to business archivists that will be held in Denver on Wednesday, August 30:

The annual Business Section Discussion Group is scheduled for 1:00-4:30 pm at the Adams Mark Hotel.  The topic this year is Knowledge Management.  Marsha Douglas from the LGS Group in Toronto will be the featured speaker.  A librarian by training, she is now a knowledge management consultant for Canada's leading international information technology and management consulting firm founded in Montreal in 1979.  She will be discussing the terms and theory of KM, practical applications and what archivists can bring to the table during KM initiatives.

Susan Maclin, Corporate Archivist at American International Group, Inc.(AIG), will describe her experience as a member of a year-long KM initiative at AIG.

The annual Business Section Social will follow from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Wynkoop Brewing Company, Colorado's oldest brew pub. All members of the Business Section and their friends are invited to partake in an array of delicious appetizers in the setting of a private room, with two pool tables.  A cash bar will provide the legendary Wynkoop brews and other adult beverages.

The Wynkoop Brewing Company is located at 1634 18th St., in the heart of the revitalized LoDo district of Denver, two blocks from Coors Field.  This is a 15 minute walk or a short cab ride from the Adams Mark Hotel.  For more information check out the Wynkoop's web site http://www.wynkoop.com

See you at the KOOP!!!
