Course Description:
Federal law and rules mandate various levels of consultation with affected or potentially affected parties when significant heritage resources are threatened by either federal or state projects. The course is for both tribal and non-tribal groups with whom governmental officials must consult. Tribal sovereignty, laws, internal procedures and traditional concerns may conflict with non-Indian expectations. Learn how to create a constructive consultation environment and how to facilitate effective cross-cultural communication. (See attached WordPerfect course outline for more details)
