Electronic Records/Management position open

John Mc Donald noted in a paper in 1998 that being a records professional in government is now "just as much about analysing the functions and programs of government institutions, understanding work processes and work flows, and what information is shared or transmitted as a result; then setting the business rules for deciding what records need to be created in the first place and what form they should take in terms of their content, context, and structure, and how they should be preserved and migrated over the long term."

There is currently an opportunity for an experienced records professional to participate in exactly this in Henderson, Nevada. Although this position has been titled Council and Commission Services Manager, it is intended that the incumbent will not only work with the business processes related to documenting the City Council agenda, and the 15 other City Boards and Commissions, but will also be a lead member of the team working on creating electronic systems that meet recordkeeping requirements to support all aspects of City business. The application packet includes the full class specification, which gives a better idea of the scope of this position.

This opening represents a significant opportunity for someone with a good background in electronic records and management to work in a highly dynamic (Henderson is the fastest growing city in the US) and supportive environment.

If anyone has questions, feel free to contact me (signature box follows the position posting).
