I'd also be interested in this as we have been having problems with our copy
machine (Canon N.P.6040) in that I noticed that the ink on the preservation
copies (made on Permalife Bond acid free paper) is not stable and not fusing
well and will actually rub off slightly on the darker settings (we use these
for copying faint handwritten manuscripts). I have been using the tape pull
test described in the National Archives and Records Administration Technical
Infromation Paper No. 5.
I have also found it extremely difficult to get informed responses from the
copier companies about this.
Great leaflets are the Conserve O Gram #19/4 from the National Park Service,
Abbey Newsletter  Volume 15 #5 Swp.1991, Permanence of Photocopy Images
Abbey Newsletter  Volume 19 #1 April 1995, Preservation Photocopiying from
Library of Congress. I'm afraid I don't have the web addresses immediately
to hand.
