Re: archives mystery needed

This is too weird - I just started reading a murder mystery involving a San
Francisco archives - the Director is poisoned at the opening night benefit,
and several donations to the archives (brought to the dinner for formal
presentation by the donors) are stolen. It's called SHE CAME BY THE BOOK,
but i forget the author's name. An interesting read, but the writing
style is somewhat disjointed - don't know if I'll read any more in the
series.
What would be great would be to have a series in which the archivist is the
detective. Does anyone know if this has been done? ttfn - jill.

Greetings...

This probably happens to every archivist who fancies himself/herself a
writer, but I'm writing an archives mystery. I know it's been done before,
but in my daydreams I'm the Margaret Truman of the archives mystery genre.

I've managed to hit a snag, however, right at the beginning: I need a
crime! I've subscribed to the museum security network to see if I can get
any ideas of items which have ALREADY been stolen from archives...I'm
floundering here. Are there any other sites which would give me some ideas
(this is making me sound like a would-be criminal, sorry!)

Thanks everyone!
Amy
