The following is my 2 cents worth...and while I'm not in a position to offer legal advice per se, I would recommend that you make certain that the donor has a clear line of title. This may mean that the items in question were mentioned specifically in the will and/or no one else has a legal claim on the items.

This may not be the answer to your question, but it's Friday and my mind is frosting over.
