NYC Family History Fair
The annual NYC Family History Fair will be held on
Sunday, October 15, 2000, from 12 noon to 5 pm. Sponsored by the Archivists
Round Table of Metropolitan New York during New York Archives Week, this free
public event will take place at the Dubinsky Student Center of Fashion Institute
of Technology, Eighth Avenue at West 27th Street, Manhattan.
Thirty-five genealogical organizations,
archival repositories and vendors will participate. "Computers and Genealogy"
will be highlighted in the exhibit area. Nineteen
workshops on a variety of family history topics will be offered throughout the
afternoon. Four authors of new works in genealogy and family storytelling
will greet visitors at a "Meet the Authors"
booth. The list of exhibitors and schedule
of workshops and author signings will be posted at www.nycarchivists.org/fhf.html.
Mark this lively event on your calendar and
spread the word to genealogists, historians, librarians and archivists.
We hope to see you at the Family
History Fair on Sunday, October 15th. There is no admission charge. For further
information, e-mail inquiries may be sent to fhf@nycarchivists.org.
