Re: advice needed

Jean,
In my (limited) experience in trying to id. photos/people/awards from WWII
and after here in Oak Ridge I've found it invaluably time saving to ask the
long-time employees here at the museum and the volunteers, many of whom are
retired employees and veterans of the Manhattan Project, for their
assistance in identification. In a college/university setting, especially
with your volume of photos, I would imagine it would be most beneficial,
both to you and all those who might have to wade through annuals, etc., for
the assistance of any who know who the people are.

The only thing to be wary of are people who are "pretty sure" of
people/events, even these can be useful as a starting point for the research
to verify. Alumni are usually more than happy to assist in such projects
and a few might even volunteer their time doing research and identification.
I would suggest starting with alumni and expand the call if necessary
(depending on the response from alums, of course)

Sounds like you have your work cut out for you, Good luck!
