Try Tower Records - I have never had much difficulty finding
DAT tapes in the USA. The D8 is a nice compact rugged
recorder

TDK, Maxwell, Sony and many more manufacture DAT tapes
Ring a local sound recording studio, they would probably be
able to tell you of a local supplier.
