Re: Gore, Bush, and DWI

To summarize the New York Times story on the subject: "In September 1976,
Bush pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence
of alcohol, paid a fine of $150, and 'had his driving privileges rescinded
in Maine for a period of time,' Bush spokeswoman Karen
Hughes said. He was 30 at the time."

So Bush's D-Dubya-I was a misdemeanor. The issue, of course, is not this
minor crime but the fact he concealed it and lied about it in interviews.
