Inmagic inquire

We are planning a conservation/digitalization project for our photo
collection starting
2001 and we are searching for a collection management software. The Jewish
American
Distribution Committee is a not-for-profit relief and welfare organization
serving overseas
needs since 1914. Our photo collection has 70.000 items. We have been
exploring
In-magic, ImageAXS, and Aleph. Currently, we are inclined to chose Inmagic.
I have searched the list's archives and followed the threads about databases.
Most of the
messages are from 93- 98. Most users seem to be very happy with Inmagic. Not
much
information about the other systems. I wonder if there is any change. I would
appreciate
if you could address the issues that were not discussed much: customizing
(how long it
takes to customize the program to an extent that it can be efficiently
used?); creating
finding aids; online access; and of course any problems or limitations that
you had
experienced.

Thank you in advance,
Silvia Hansman
