Thanks for advice on humidity readers
I would like to thank everyone who responded to my digital thermohygrometer
reader question. We decided to go with one handheld digital reader for the
main library and a sling psychrometer for the Special Collections area. I
needed accuracy; the rest of the library needs portability without the
danger of breaking wicks or wacking patrons. Eventually, when the budget
allows, we'll get a hygrothermograph for the Special Collections area. In
the meantime, I'll record the readings by hand. Perhaps between the
condensation on the windows and the record of temp/humidity readings over
time, we will convince our building maintenance folks that our HVAC needs
attention. Now if only I could convince them to get a new roof . . .
