Help. AAM is coming!

Help!
I have a bit of a problem that I hope some of you wonderful people might
have been through before. My company is archive housed in a semi-large
warehouse like space. We used to be a separate entity but about a year ago
our running was taken over buy the local historical society. Now the real
problem is the historical center/museum is going for their AAM
accreditation... because we are now a part of them, we have to go through
some of what they are going through. My boss, head of the historical
society, wants me (and I work basically by myself, I have one part timer
with a very bad back) to make some since out of the mess of this
warehouse-like room. He wants me to put the 2 dimensional stuff in one area,
3D in another, our little food prep stuff in a separate area (this consists
of a dorm refrig., & microwave oven), my part timers stuff in a separate
area (he is a film and video editor), then there will be my area with a
space for processing collections. [Thank you for lasting this long.]
Needless to say our stuff is all mixed together, put in her in the order it
cam into the building I guess. Do any of you have any idea how to go about
sorting all this stuff out. The room is getting rather full, we need more
shelves, etc. Any ideas? Sympathy? Shoulders to cry on? I have until May
when the AAM people are going to come. Any help will be appreciated.
