Retention schedule for researchers etc.

I find that correspondence with researchers (the thorough ones, anyway) is very helpful in learning more about the people in our own collections. I realize that in a larger repository where there are hundreds more researchers than we have here, you would have to be more methodical and routinely get rid of more than we have to, but I keep files of correspondence with researchers with the original collection's hard copy box lists and finding aids. We have had some very good connections made and information/clues brought to light by researchers, and it would be stupid to lose this valuable information.
