The curriculum in Texas is similiar to Utah.  Texas History is taught in the 4th
and 7th grades, U. S. History in the 5th, 8th, and 1 year in high school with
World History in the 6th grade.  High School graduation requirements include 1
year of Geography and a semester of  U. S. Government and one of Economics.  Of
course, all of this is meaningless if you have incompetent teachers.
